Flatland Ski Association

 

This is the FSA trip that will be remembered for years, their first annual FSA trip outside of Colorado in their many decades as an association.  And what better place than Lake Tahoe.   The main portion of the trip, Thurs-Sat, will be at Heavenly with a FSA welcome party, racing, awards banquet and more.  We’ve stretched the trip out to a full week and have teamed up with our sister club in Lincoln, the Cornhusker Ski Club, for an optional three days of skiing at Kirkwood, Alpine Meadows, and Squaw (see below for specifics).

Heavenly now has a new high-speed detachable quad chairlift and a new high-speed six passenger chairlift, improving access on the California side of the mountain.  Lifts operate from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, M-F and 8:30 am to 4:00 on weekends.  If you need ski/snowboard lessons or equipment, check with your trip captain as FSA has obtained significant discounts.

We’ve teamed up with our sister club in Lincoln, the Cornhusker Ski Club, for an optional three days of skiing at Kirkwood, Alpine meadows, and Squaw (Dec. 10th Deadline to sign up and all fees paid):

 

Kirkwood is $57, includes lift ticket and bus transportation. 

Alpine Meadows is $41, includes lift ticket and bus transportation. 

Squaw is $121, includes bus there with breakfast, lift ticket & dinner on the boat back across the lake.  (http://www.squaw.com)

 

Other options available in the area include casino gambling, cross country skiing, ice fishing, snowmobile safaris, sleigh rides, and dog sled rides.

 

Lodging:

 

We will once again be staying at the Lakeland Village Beach & Mountain Resorts, this time in the Pinegrove Townhomes.  All units are two bedroom (usually queen, kink or double beds) and a loft.  There will be four people per townhome and the lofts will only be used for families with children or were sleeping arrangements require more than two bedrooms.  Each townhome is furnished and includes a fully equipped kitchen, living room with wood burning fireplace and balcony.  Close by are two hot tubs, sauna, laundry facilitates and complimentary breakfast.  There are private shuttles available for trips to Heavenly, casinos and around town.

 

Our group lodging is only locked in until the 20th of November at which time we will let go any unused rooms.  Any cancellations between Nov. 21st and Dec.10, will result in a loss of initial $250 deposit.  Any cancellations less 50 days prior to trip will result in full forfeiture of all monies paid. 

 

FSA Information:

Failure to pay deposits at the appointed times will remove you from the trip and put you on a wait list and the possible loss of any deposits as per the terms on the sign up form or any specific terms per trip.  Please be on time with your payments to avoid additional work for trip captains and possible loss of your place on the trip.
