President's LetterMarch 2008 We’re nearing the end of another successful ski season. We traveled to Copper Mountain, Monarch, Winter Park and Steamboat in Colorado and to Whitefish Resort at Big Mountain in Montana. There’s one remaining trip to Breckenridge, Colorado on the agenda. Now’s the time to start planning for next year’s ski season. Please use upcoming social activities to talk to any board member about where you’d like to see the club visit next year. Your input is crucial to our ability to offer trips you’re interested in taking. We had great participation for our trips this year and hope to exceed your expectations again next year. As summer approaches we’re getting closer to Sunday morning bike rides. Watch your emails for trips as they’re announced. It’s a great way to stay in shape and also to stay in touch with other Club members. Sunday, May 18, is the annual election party. Details will be announced soon so watch for that important email. The club will provide the entrée and members are encourage to bring a side dish and whatever they plan to drink that afternoon/evening. As always, we’re having the end of year “picnic” celebration along with the election where you vote for new board members. Two members’ terms expire so we’re looking for new candidates to run for two-year terms as board members. The positions require monthly attendance at our board meetings where we plan club activities and the all important ski trips. This is a volunteer, unpaid position. We also encourage candidates who are willing to actively interact with other club members to gather their thoughts and opinions so we get input from many different perspectives. So if you’re interested in running for a position on the board please forward a short paragraph about yourself. Typically people include something about themselves, their ski club experience and what they hope to accomplish as a board member of the Omaha Ski Club. Your mini-autobiography is due by April 27 in order to allow time to prepare the ballots to be voted and returned on or before the May 18 election party.
